Sexual Offences Act velvet throw

Sexual Offences Act velvet throw

A specially produced velvet throw, designed to commemorate the Sexual Offences Act 1967, which marked the beginning of the decriminalisation of homosexuality between men in England and Wales.

The imperial print takes inspiration from the eighteenth century ceramic style known as Jasperware. The neoclassical laurel wreath motif incorporates the historic date 27th July 1967. Jasperware has a special place in the visual culture of England, recognised as being simultaneously regal and kitsch.
